San Francisco Farm Agricultural and Ecotourism Lodge and Tours is located in Pantanal, near the river Rio Miranda, in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), Brasil.
The hotel has a great variety of fauna and flora, and it offers you an authentic farm daily life: cultivation techniques, production and chores, walking along with a deep concern with environmental protection.
We offer various tours, such as: Bird Watching, Jaguar Watching, Night Safari, Ecological Day Safari, and many others focused on observing Pantanal’s fauna and flora.
Nonetheless we also hold special programs along with the Program of Environmental Education in Pantanal, that allows our guests to experience and learn from a Scientific Research regarding the famous spotted jaguar from Pantanal.

If you choose not to stay over, you can purchase our day use, which includes: Photographic Safari, Hiking along Rio Miranda, Chalana (pantanal’s traditional boats) ride, Piranha fishing, and a special pantaneiro lunch. All of that with guaranteed safety, since our specialized guides will be conducting you all day long.
However, we highly recommend you stay over. If you do so, we have options up to 4 nights including different tours and leisure activities in our headquarters. Our pool area is a great way of experience South Pantanal with safety.
About the farm:
The property has over 2.500 acres of pastures formed by Capim Braquiarão, Tanzânia e Bracearia decumbens. However, more than half of the farm preserves Pantanal’s typical atributes.
In the words of Dr. Dulcimar Menezes, the official veterinarian of the property, “it is possible to enjoy this area for cultivation during some months of the year”.

Assistance and receptive at Campo Grande’s airport.
Transportation in a shared van from the airport to the hotel in Campo Grande and then to San Francisco Farm in Pantanal.
Our vans leave daily at 10 am. Therefore, we recommend flights arriving in Campo Grande until 9 am. However, we can schedule private pick-ups if you desire.

ECOLOGICAL TOURS
San Francisco Farm - Pantanal - MS
Horse riding is a typical activity in Pantanal and it shows you the area from a Pantaneiro’s perspective: from a horse’s back!
Our horses are gentle and trained to ride with beginners and guests who have never even tried riding a horse. It is a contemplation tour, in which our guide shows you the authentic habits of a pantaneiro, like drinking tereré: a traditional iced tea, appreciated by all of the locals.
During the horse riding, typical animals of Brazilian’s cerrado, such as tatus, tamanduás, deers, emas, and many others, can be seen.

Our canoe ride is performed at Corixo São Domingos.
In this activity, you will have the opportunity of contemplating alligators, capivaras, a lot of birds, and with some luck, even Ariranhas, famously known as our “water jaguars”!!
In all of our tours, the group is accompanied at all times by a specialized local guide, who will provide all the informations that will guarantee a comfortable and safe ride.
After the instructions, you can relax and enjoy the scenery, paddling in the calm waters of Corixo São Domingos!

Hike at Trilha da Vazante & Visit Pantanal’s lookout
Trilha da Vazante - hike through a wood path overlapping areas of vazante, at times flooded and at others dry, in the forest reserve placed in San Francisco farm.
The hike has an extension of 900 meters, and at its end you will find a lookout 10 meters high, with a spectacular view of Pantanal’s scenery.
During the hike, you will explore open areas and isolated stands of forest. Therefore, you will be able to see a great variety of birds, mammals such as pantanal’s deers, capivaras and even the spotted jaguar, which was seen a couples of times in this route in times of floods.

With a capacity for 11 people + our guide, Guerreira canoe rides through the calm waters of Corixo São Domingos in a silence and softness that will delight you. It is pure emotion.
Curious alligators show up near the boat. Different birds such as garça maguari, gavião belo and kingfishers, accompany the adventure. Even spotted jaguars might show up…
It is an activity suitable at any age, and it is included in packages starting from 03 nights.

Pantaneiro Barbecue with typical dance presentation
Corixo’s mountain is located near the farm’s headquarters. It is a pleasant option for those who want to stay over and enjoy a night in pantanal’s silence.
The meat is grilled in a firewood, and dinner is served outdoors, underneath the stars, in wood tables. We also have delicious desserts! For those looking for a little bit of excitement, different typical musics are played to enliven the atmosphere!There are a lot of options: chamamé, polca, vanerão and rancheira.

Night Safari with wildlife watching
This activity is suitable for lovers of adventure and emotion.
In Pantanal it is possible to find a great diversity of animals with nocturnal habits. Species such as lobinhos, jaguatiricas, antas, alligators, capivaras, deers, owls, some birds, and the impressive spotted jaguar. At night, strong lights are used to reflect the animals eyes. We present to our guests a unforgettable encounter with these species in our night safari.
The activity starts in the farm’s headquarters, and lasts up to 2 hours and a half. The path pass through rice plantations (great area to find mammals) and the forest reserve area. During the drought (usually from June to October), it is possible to go through the beautiful area of dry drainage channel, with intact forest vegetation.
Our cars for this safari are called “Guará” (up to 25 people) and “Jaguatirica” (up to 11 people) and consist of 4WD cars, equipped with seats in different levels to facilitate animal watching. Our guides are extremely prepared and trained to find animals at night.
Includes: Night Safari in special vehicle with specialized guides, insurance against accidents, and special glasses for eye protection.

This activity is performed in comfortable safari vehicles. It goes through roads of native forest and Pantanal, rice fields and visits to the farm’s cattle creation. Those places make it possible to our guest to see and meet Pantanal’s fauna and flora, as well as the farm’s productive activities.
In this ride, it is possible to see animals such as deers, capivaras, alligators, and a lot of different birds, like the tuiuiú - the symbol bird of Pantanal. With a little luck, it is possible to find tamanduás, antas and the majestic spotted jaguar.
During the safari, you can hike at Carandá trail, a suspended trail that overlaps the riparian forest of Rio Miranda. This hike takes approximately 20 minutes. It is possible to watch the encounter of the waters of Corixo São Domingos with Rio Miranda. Different birds can be seen during the hike.

Chalana Ride in Corixo São Domingos and Artisanal Piranha Fishing
Our chalana ride is performed on Corixo São Domingos - a section of Rio Miranda. In this activity it is possible to see bird species that live around the river, such as kingfishers, biguas, garças, socós, hawks, and many others. Alligators are usually seen from a walking distance. With any luck, otters and even a tamanduá might pass in front of the boat.
You can also sport fish piranhas, and visit our centenary fig tree.
During drought season (June to October), it is possible to hike the native forest of corixo and get familiar with its typical vegetation. Trees such as mata pau fig tree, white fig tree, acuri, piuva, angico, and different vines can be seen.

This ride is an adventure along the waters of Rio Miranda. It is a contemplation activity in a rich environment in one of the main rivers of Pantanal: Rio Miranda.
The boat has space for 12 people + the road conductor, and it is regulated by the Marine. This ride is offered for guest who purchase more than 2 nights, as a regular activity of the lodge, and can be purchased as a separate tour through our Reservation Central.
A little bit about Rio Miranda: it follow an estimated distance of 490 kms, and it leads to Rio Paraguai, in the city of Corumbá, at 83 meters of altitude. It crosses two biomes: Cerrado and Pantanal. And it’s main affluent is Rio Aquidauana.
